From Middle French _astrologie_, and its source, Latin _astrologia_ (“astronomy”), from Ancient Greek _ἀστρολογία_ (astrología, “telling of the stars”), from _ἄστρον_ (ástron, “star, planet, or constellation”) + _-λογία_ (-logía, “treating of”), combination form of _-λόγος_ (-lógos, “one who speaks (in a certain manner)”). Morphologically _astro-_ +‎ _-logy_.
